Most fabrics are now free use in their copyright, although Amy Butler wasn't until about 3 years ago.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6370167071812513383.post-73983539176501102282009-01-18T17:04:00.000-08:002009-01-18T17:04:00.000-08:00The Amy Butler book actually says you are free to ...The Amy Butler book actually says you are free to use the designs as long as you credit her.Darling Petuniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17847324175755160320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6370167071812513383.post-16194779431674612992009-01-14T21:05:00.000-08:002009-01-14T21:05:00.000-08:00Hey Lady... I think it sucks when someone steals someone else's work and passes it off as their own (it's the sewist version of plaguerism) but that is different from someone paying you for your expertise as a seamstress. If they could sew the pattern on their own they would. Anyway, they seem very different to me... with one credit is given, with the other things are shady and sneaky.2WeeMonstershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11243552718301003161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6370167071812513383.post-16217523322146197242009-01-11T18:57:00.000-08:002009-01-11T18:57:00.000-08:00In my non-attorney opinion, this is a case of some...In my non-attorney opinion, this is a case of someone paying you for the service of sewing a garment from designated fabric and pattern, as opposed to selling a product made from someone else's fabric and pattern. You're essentially being commissioned by a client to create something. Maybe this is bunk and I'm splitting hairs, but it's just my $0.02. :)Antoinettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09398754886656482414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6370167071812513383.post-89655891133645326062009-01-11T16:52:00.000-08:002009-01-11T16:52:00.000-08:00Can't help you with that but I am in love with the...Can't help you with that but I am in love with the bend the rules sewing book.
